Bob was my namesake; I'm his nephew, and my dad was Bob's twin brother.
I have several vivid memories of my uncle; topmost was my wedding day, which was late July in Minnesota - humid and hot as Hades. I had done a good job of packing, but had neglected to put dress socks in my luggage. I didn't realize my goof until I got to the church, where me and the groomsmen had arranged to suit up for the wedding.
Good old Uncle Bob offered to let me wear a pair of his nylon socks - what he meant was the sweat-drenched ones he was wearing! Since desperate times call for desperate measures, I took him up on his offer.
I also remember a trip to Denver to visit Bob and Nancy when I was about thirteen years old; there was homemade pizza and a trip to see how beer was made at the Coors Brewery. And I also reccall going on a rockhound and fossil-hunting trip with Bob and Nancy near Rapid City, SD when I was a teenager. Fun times! We didn't find T Rex, but they showed me how to look for fossils along the Cheyenne River.
Gods bless ya, Uncle Bob
We enjoyed many experiences with Bob and Nancy. We attended every year of their annual picnic for our club. We will miss their smiling faceS at swaps and shows. God Bless
