Robert Ellis Hubbard's Obituary
Robert Ellis Hubbard, 76, resident of Tulsa, Oklahoma passed away on April 6, 2022.
Robert was born on July 10, 1945, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri at 1:55 P.M. to Margaret Ellis and Chester Hubbard.
He is survived by Susan Hubbard, wife of 40 years, together for 42 years; son, Barrett Hubbard of Tulsa; daughter, Brittney Hubbard and her fiancé, Demonte Embry of Broken Arrow; daughter, Christina Jones, and her husband, Brian Jones of Bartlesville; son, Dominque Arnette, of Tulsa; his brother, Roger Hubbard, and his wife, Judy Hubbard-Dexter of Missouri; sister, Deborah Funk, and Husband Wayne Funk of Coupeville, Washington; his grandchildren, Marie Ramsey, Monquill Embry, Kaiden Hubbard, Trinity Hubbard, Demonte Embry Jr., Isiah Jones, Ciairra Thompson, Chris Jones, AJ Logsdon-Jones, Jazzmine Jones, Aaliyah Arnette, Lilian Duncan; one great-grandchild, Elijah; and many nephews and nieces as well as a host of other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother Charles Hubbard of West Plains, Missouri.
Bob wore many hats in his life. He humbly served his whole life. After graduation, Bob went into the Marine Corp and was deployed to proudly serve in the Vietnam War. Upon returning to the United States Bob was employed by the Dexter Police Department and then the United States Postal Service. He missed military life and joined the Army. While in the Army he met the love of his life, Susan. After marriage, Bob decided the Army was no life to have a family, so he retired from them and rejoined the Postal Service. After medically retiring from the Postal Service he moved to Tulsa, OK.
He loved his children dearly, but the Grandchildren were the pure joy of his life. He had a Pit Bull named Sugars who stole his heart. He loved Blue Bloods, westerns, listening to music, and reading any history-related books and the Bible. Bob accepted the Lord in 1996 and was baptized. He was looking forward to a reunion in Heaven.
His wishes of making a transition to the glory land known as Heaven were made from his home to his final resting place. He went to meet his Savior peacefully thanks to his daughter, Brittney, who took care of him. He will be missed by family and friends who loved him.
