Robert L. LentzRobert L. Lentz, 91, of Tulsa, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on November 9, 2015. Bob was born on August 4, 1924 in Hutchinson, Kansas to Elmer Leon Lentz and Gladys Barnes Lentz. He attended school in Hutchinson. Joining the U.S. Army on July 9, 1943, he saw service in the European Theater as a sniper, scout and later in the Military Police. He continued in the reserves, and on active duty in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict in 1950. He was discharged in March of 1952. He married Edith Elma Bitter, of Hutchinson, on September 24, 1945. They moved to Tulsa, where Bob studied at Spartan College of Aeronautical Engineering, and went on to a career with a series of companies in the aircraft industry. He is survived by his children: David (Sandy), Susi Prather, Danny (Sharon), Becki (R.J.) Burgess, Debi (Larry) Rogers, Timothy, Kevin, and Megan (Mike) Eubanks; thirteen grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Bob was actively involved with the Boy Scouts, serving as Cubmaster and Scoutmaster for forty plus years, guiding many young men, including his four sons, to Eagle rank. His longstanding interest in genealogy resulted in numerous research trips and a dozen binders of carefully collated documents and photographs. Graveside services will be held on Friday, November 13th at 2 pm in the Veterans Field of Honor, Floral Haven Cemetery, Broken Arrow. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
