Robert Darlington Malaby's Obituary
Robert Darlington Malaby was born in Oklahoma City on September 22, 1924 and passed from this life on February 25, 2012 at the age of 87 years, 5 months, and 3 days. Robert met and married Betty Christine Smith on December 17, 1944 and they shared 67 memorable years, 2 months and 8 days together. They have four children, Robert Malaby of Pomona, CA, Howard Malaby of Aiken, SC, Gladys Malaby of Tulsa, OK and Anna Culver of Beggs, OK. They have 12 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Irving and Laura Mae Malaby; two brothers, Clarence and George Malaby; and two sisters, Laura Mae and Edna. As a very young boy he moved from Oklahoma City, OK to Mountain Home, AR in a covered wagon with his family. The boys all had to walk with their dad while his mom and the girls got to ride in the wagon. He worked for the Tulsa World & Tribune for 39 years and 9 months. He loved printing gospel tracts, hunting, fishing, church, and his Bible, and especially spending time with his family. After retirement from the Tulsa World he worked for Walmart in Cleveland, OK for over 10 years. Visitation will be 2:00-9:00 PM Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at Floral Haven Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held 3:00 PM Thursday, March 1, 2012 at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel. As Robert used to say….. “Home Again, Home Again, Jiggity Jog!!!”
