Robert Roy Masters' Obituary
Robert Roy Masters born January 1, 1927 in Halstead, Kansas passed away March 29, 2014 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Robert was the 4th of 4 children born to Walter and Edna Masters. Robert attended Halstead High School. After graduation Robert served in the Army from 1950-1954 during the Korean War. During his service he attained the rank of Tech Sgt. and received a Presidential Unit Citation and Republic of Korea medals. Robert began his working career as a Radiologic Technologist and then became a salesman for GAF Corp. After Robert’s retirement in 1992 he loved traveling and attending dog training events and shows. Robert loved his two dogs Amber and Holly. Robert also enjoyed volunteering his time at All Saints Catholic School reading to the 2nd grade class. In September 2013 Robert had the opportunity to take one of the Best Trips of his life on the Honor Flight. When Robert wasn’t traveling or attending dog training events he loved spending his time hunting, fishing, camping and watching OU football. Robert loved laughing and always had a great sense of humor. Robert is survived by his spouse Rita Mae Masters; daughter MaryAnn and her husband Nello Gionta; grandchildren Bethany Jane Kennedy, Robert Michael Grizzle, David John Gionta, Victoria Mae Grizzle and 7 great-great grandchildren. Robert is preceded in passing by his parents Bob and Edna Masters daughter and son-in-law Nancy and Gary Dean Grizzle and sisters Jean Umholtz and Marion Loganbil.
