Robert P. Murray's Obituary
Robert P. Murray, 84, passed away on April 25, 2011. He was born on December 8, 1926, to Harry L. and Gladys R. (Penhale) Murray in Charleston, West Virginia. He graduated from Stonewall Jackson High School in Charleston in 1944. During World War II he served as a clerk in the Army Air Corps. In 1951, Bob graduated from Colorado School of Mines in Golden, Colorado, with a degree in Petroleum Engineering. He married Lucy E. Reynolds in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, on July 2, 1953. He worked for Cities Service Oil Co./Oxy for 35 years in Bartlesville, Lindsay, Odessa, and Tulsa. He was a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers. Bob was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 57 years and five children along with their spouses: Debbie & Alan Overturf of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Mike & Susie Murray of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Tom & Karen Murray of Clinton, Oklahoma, Andy & Karen Murray of Katy, Texas, and Pat & Chris Murray of Elmwood Park, Illinois. He had thirteen grandchildren: Cody Francisco, Jessica & Chris Ducker, Madison Francisco, Jason Murray, Zachary Murray, Katie & Justin Booth, Molly Murray, Joshua & Erica Murray, Taylor Murray, Tara Murray, Marguerite Murray, Alison Murray, Connor Murray, and one great-grandchild, Everett Ducker and one sister, Betty Murray of Charleston, West Virginia. Graveside services will be held at Floral Haven Cemetery at 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 29, followed by a memorial service at Kirk of the Hills Church at 11:00 a.m.
