Robert Nance's Obituary
Robert “Bob” Ray Nance, 90, of Owasso, passed away February 25, 2021 in his home. He was born June 18th, 1930 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Roy M. Nance and Nola Custer Nance (Crawford).
Bob was a graduate of Tulsa Central High school where he learned the skills needed to begin a career as a cabinetmaker. He worked for over 10 years at Bob’s Carpenter shop before going to work at American Airlines in their Maintenance Facility.
His skill and attention to detail were evident in every piece of wood he touched, from the smallest hand carved trinket for a child or large pieces for the home or church.
Bob was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church for over 50 years. He was active with the men’s group and anywhere in the church where he could be of service.
Upon retiring at age 58, Bob, along with his wife Betty enjoyed many years of traveling the U.S. in their RV. They spent winters in Texas and summers in Colorado in addition to visiting 49 of 50 states. Square dancing and games with friends filled the days with fun and laughter.
Bob was proceeded in death by his parents; sisters Melba Finnell and Sue Kersey; granddaughter Emily Nance and his wife of 66 yrs, Betty Jean Bradfield Nance. Bob is survived by his children Evelyn Sisemore, Russell Nance, Ronald Nance, Darla Boydstun and their spouses; 5 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and great friends.
A celebration of Bob’s life will be held at 12:30pm, Thursday, March 4, 2021 at Floral Haven Cemetery Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honor to the church or charity of your choice.
