Robert Gerald Perkins' Obituary
Robert Gerald Perkins was born July 5th 1932 in Broken Arrow OK. Gerald passed away February 10, 2016. He married Delores Ann King and had 4 children: David Perkins and wife Penny, Mark Perkins, Bruce Perkins and wife Ann, and Michelle Mills and husband Gene; Grandchildren: Shane, Lauren, Joy, Sheena, Holly, Ehren and Ethan, plus 3 great grandchildren. Gerald served in the Army during the Korean War. His interest in mechanical things led him to study at Spartan Aircraft and on to his lifetime career at American Airlines for 40 years. His work experience and knowledge enabled him to get his Aircraft A & P license while there. In Gerald’s earlier years, his hobbies he enjoyed were clock restoration and vintage cars. As he grew older, he enjoyed spending more time with his grandchildren, daily walks; he loved watching wrestling and had a very healthy appetite. He took stained glass classes and made quite a few pieces that he liked to give away. He was an active member at the Aspen Baptist Church in Broken Arrow. When he retired and had more time to enjoy his interest in music listening to: Al Hirt, Pete Fountain, Glen Miller, Count Basie and even took a liking Adele’s live music. Gerald’s deeds and actions spoke more than his words. His work ethic was rare in today’s world. He had a strong and silent manner and was very appreciative to his love ones for all the care he received. We love him and will miss his smile. Memorial Services for Robert Gerald Perkins will be held 11:00 am, Monday, February 15, 2016, Floral Haven Rose Chapel, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Following the Service there will be a gathering at the Family Center.
