Robert John Reed's Obituary
Senior Master Sergeant (SMSgt) Robert J. Reed, U.S. Air Force (Ret.), 83, passed away on September 26, 2025, in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. He was born on June 18, 1942, in Tucson, Arizona, and lived a life characterized by hard work, service, and kindness.
He enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1960 and proudly served as an electrician. In 1966, he was deployed to Vietnam, where he dedicated himself to supporting his fellow servicemen and ensuring vital systems remained operational. Robert continued his distinguished military career until retiring from the Air Force in 1980 at the rank of Senior Master Sergeant (SMSgt).
After completing his military service, Robert worked as a mail handler for the U.S. Post Office and later returned to his passion for his trade as an electrician for the Veterans Administration. He retired in June 2007, after an extraordinary 47 years of federal service.
Robert was also known for his deep love of animals and his compassion for those around him. He enjoyed caring for pets, spending time with family, and lending a helping hand whenever it was needed.
Robert is preceded in death by his father, John Joseph Reed (1954), his mother, Marie Del Carmen Reed (1997), and his younger brother, Lawrence Reed (2024).
He is survived by his beloved wife, Pamela Reed; his three sons, Glen Allen Reed and his wife Stephanie, Scott Allen Reed and his wife Belkis, and Christopher John Allen Reed and his wife Michelle; and his three granddaughters, Alexis, Sierra, and Cassandra, whom he deeply cherished.
A celebration of Robert’s life is being planned in the summer of 2026 in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Robert will be remembered fondly by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
