Robert Flynn Rolf's Obituary
Robert Flynn Rolf was born July 20, 1925, in Duluth Minnesota to Godfrey E. and Ellen Flynn Rolf. Bill and Eleanor were his older siblings. He was educated in the Duluth public schools; graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration; then added to his formal education with reading and travel on a life long quest for knowledge. Bob was a World War II veteran serving in the Army Air Force Communication System stationed in Okinawa, Japan. Bob and Jessie Lee Spencer were married June 16, 1951 and raised three daughters together. Their lives centered on family. His career in food sales management with Libby, McNeil & Libby and the Pillsbury Company spanned four decades. Transfers lead them from Duluth to Minneapolis, then on to Kansas City, San Francisco, Kansas City again, and finally Tulsa. Retirement was an opportunity to pursue his many hobbies and interests, always with Jessie at his side. Bob, age 78, died in his home surrounded by family, on March 10, 2004.Bob was preceded in death by his parents and brother, William Rolf and his wife, Virginia; brothers-in-law Eben Spencer and John Spencer. Bob is survived by wife Jessie Lee Spencer Rolf, daughters Mary Gouveia, Carol Ireland and husband Gregg, and Julie Edmondson and husband Tim; grandchildren Robert Gouveia; Zeke, Jessie and Jackie Ireland; Cody, Kelly and Shane Edmondson; sister Eleanor McKnight and husband Mac; sisters-in-law Barbara Spencer and Mary Spencer; brother-in-law Rod Spencer and wife Helen; plus sixteen nephews and nieces.To my family left behind, No greater love will I find.
