Robert "Bob" Ryan's Obituary
Robert Francis Ryan, passed away peacefully on March 16th, 2025, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was born on November 13th, 1944, in Hamilton, Ohio, to Thomas and Lillian Moore Ryan. Robert (fondly known as Bob) was the youngest of six children. He graduated from Will Rogers High School in Tulsa in 1963. Robert served his country with honor from 1963 to 1966 and was a very proud Army Vietnam veteran. After returning from Vietnam, Bob worked for the Corps of Engineers. He then went on to attend classes at the University of Tulsa, majoring in Business/Accounting. His hardworking nature led him to start a new job as a driver for FedEx where he spent the majority of his career. After retiring from FedEx, Bob worked at Reasor’s in management. His career was marked by his commitment and reliability.
Robert married Frances Oneta Fleming on June 1, 1965, and they had one daughter, Michelle Deanne Ryan born in December 1968. After his marriage to Oneta ended, Bob married Glenda Ohmes on November 26, 1980, with whom he shared the remainder of his life.
Bob's life was filled with love and laughter, especially when he was spending time with his children and grandchildren, traveling with his sisters, nieces, and nephews, or fishing. He was also an avid sports fan, with a particular love for the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame and Oklahoma Sooner football. And anyone who knew Bob, knows how he loved George Jones who he got to see perform live multiple times.
Left to cherish Robert’s memory are his wife, Glenda Ryan, daughters; Michelle (Hayes) Hooper and husband Jamey, Shelly Perez and husband Jose, son; Troy Ohmes and partner Dianne, as well as granddaughters Kenley Hayes, Michaela Hayes, Kendall Hayes, and Jami Coatney and husband Brandon. He is also survived by his dear sisters, Josephine Dorsett and Dorothy Ray, as well as his beloved aunt Eileen Moore, and many cousins, nieces and nephews and other family members and friends who will forever hold their memories close. He was preceded in death by his mother; Lillian Jones and husband Francis, Father; Thomas Ryan, son; Anthony Ohmes, grandsons; Diego and Dante Perez, sister Mary Hobbs Rooks, and brothers Thomas Ryan and John Ryan. Their memories lived on in his heart, and he often shared stories of their times together.
