Robert Paul Sartain's Obituary
Robert P. “Bob” Sartain, 78, passed away on January 21, 2016. He was born on Nov. 9, 1937, in Mineral Wells, Texas to John Eugene and Ruby Purefoy Sartain. He graduated from Amon G. Carter High School in Ft. Worth, TX, in 1956. He honorably served in the U.S. Army. He began a long career with the FAA working at the Albuquerque Center and teaching air traffic control at the FAA Academy in Oklahoma City. He retired in 1997. He spent the last several years of his life in Green Valley, AZ. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, playing golf, traveling, reading, and telling funny stories. Robert is survived by his daughter, Shelly and husband, Donald; a son, John and wife, Kelly; four grandchildren of whom he was especially proud: Cayley, Bailey, Emily, and JJ; a brother, Bill; a sister, Linda; and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by special friends in Albuquerque, NM and Green Valley, AZ. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his memory to Clovis Christian School, PO Box 608, Clovis, NM, 88102, which held a special place in his heart. Memorial Services will be 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 26, 2016, Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
