Robert Perry Selph's Obituary
Robert “Perry” Selph of Catoosa Oklahoma passed away on December 10, 2023. Perry (as his family called him) was born on April 19, 1955 to Roger and Laura Selph in Fort Smith Arkansas. He was 68 years old. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roger and Laura (Perry) Selph, a brother James and a sister Ruth Ann.
Perry is survived by 3 siblings. His sister Carolyn (Don) McAllister of Alma AR , Brother Dan (Marisela) of Winslow AR and sister Laura of Timonium MD. Many nieces and nephews. And several great nieces and nephews.
Perry spent his early years on a small farm just south of Fort Smith, AR. That’s where he developed his love for animals. Especially the ones he could ride! His family moved to Fayetteville AR while he was still in grade school. He missed the farm, riding horses and his donkey, Useless.
As he got a little older he discovered another form of riding. Motorcycles! The joy of riding his motorcycle would be a lifelong passion. Providing him with many adventures and like-minded individuals that remained close friends for life.
After high school, he enjoyed working in different occupations that allowed him to live in different parts of the U.S. He enjoyed traveling, meeting new people, and learning about different cultures.
He found his ninch in the oil field which provided him with frequent traveling experiences. He worked in Russia, China and Venezuela to name a few. Perry was a people person. He enjoyed challenging you to think and consider different topics from a new angle. This made him excellent in his position at Baker Hughes where he managed a large and diversified group of people. While at Baker Hughes he developed and was recognized for a piece of equipment that was patented. He retired from Baker Hughes as the Field Service Manager for North America North after 28 years of service.
A Celebration of Life service will be at 12:30 PM, Saturday, January 13, 2023, at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel.
