Robert Ray Wickham's Obituary
Robert (Bob) R. Wickham was born on May 10, 1951 in Sedan, Kansas to Marvin Dale and Maudie Dell (Wells) Wickham. Bob passed away on February 3, 2025 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
Survived by: wife Susan Wickham, son Jason and wife Lisa, daughter Stephanie Wickham, grandsons Dylan and Skyler Wickham, brother Bill Wickham and wife Vicki, sister-n-law Linda Wickham, brother-in-law Charles Workman, nephews James Wickham, Alfred Wickham, Ben Wickham, Jeremy Workman, and niece Lori Connella.
Preceded in death: grandparents Al and Georgia Wickham, parents Marvin and Maudie Wickham, brother Jim Wickham, in-laws Bill and Helen Workman.
Bob grew up with his two brothers in Foraker, OK. He loved his family and who knows the stories that can be told of their antics. Bob graduated high school in 1969 from Shidler, OK. He received his associate’s degree at Northern Oklahoma College in Tonkawa, OK in 1971. He was an avid reader and learner teaching himself new skills such as welding, carpentry, and mechanics.
Bob and Susan married on October 28, 1972, and had 52 years together. He loved hunting, fishing, hunting for arrowheads, and restoring his beloved classic Mustangs, which was a passion shared by his brother Jim. Family was a cornerstone of his life. He coached baseball and softball teams and supported his family in all aspects of their life.
Bob worked in road construction with Sherwood Construction for many years and had many adventures before transitioning to the oil field with Phillips. He retired from Phillips/DCP Midstream with 34 years worked, 31 of these years in Hobbs, NM, where he made many lifelong friends.
A Celebration of life will be held at Christian Center Church, 4024 W. College Lane, Hobbs, New Mexico on Saturday, March 22, 2025, from 4:00 -7:00 PM.
Bob was a fun-loving, laid-back guy. He would want you to be as comfortable as him. Just wear comfortable, casual attire to honor his memory.
