Robert was such a special man. Our prayers out with you!!!! We were blessed to know him!
Sandra, Stefnie, Angie and family — I do not have enough words to express my sadness at Robert’s passing. He was such an important part of my life in those SHBC days and is responsible for so much of my musical growth. He gave me literally hundreds of opportunities to play and sing and I am so grateful for that. And of course that voice! I’ve seen a lot of people posting their love for “Listen to the Hammer Ring”, which was of course glorious, but my favorite “Robert song” has always been to hear him sing “It Is Well” — when he sang that song, I felt like things were, indeed, “well with my soul”. I occasionally accompany for Jim Davis at Skelly Drive and we always talk about Robert — and as you can imagine, Jim always has a good story to tell! One funny thing is that Robert ALWAYS called me “Beth Ann” — not my name! He knew it wasn’t really my name but once told me, “Well, it should be!” It just our silly little joke! Anyway, this world was a better place because of his life and MY LIFE was better because of his role in it. Love you guys and will continue to pray for you during these hard days…
