Robert Stephen (Steve) Wood passed away at his home on 1/06/2020 in Broken Arrow, OK at the age of 71.Steve Wood is survived by wife, Pamela Colleen Wood; children, Matthew Byron Wood and wife KC Johnson Wood of Tulsa, Brenton Clay Wood of Sallisaw; and 3 Grandchildren, Gabrielle Wood of Burleson TX, Tytan Wood and Travis Wood of Tulsa. He is preceded in death by his parents Bob and Fran Wood and his brother, Bill Kittrell.Steve Wood was born on May 13, 1948 in Neosho, MO to Robert Garland Wood and Francis Alberta Walker. He graduated from Neosho High School, MO in 1966. Steve Wood served in the Marine Corps from 1966 to 1970. Where his MOS was 6212 Aviation NavSysTech. He married Pamela Colleen Williams, in 1972. After a move from Missouri to Shreveport, LA, Steve moved to Tulsa and began a restaurant management career at Taco Bueno. The couple welcomed 2 children, Matt & Brent into their home. His children remember him as a kind, gentle, patient, driven father who encouraged them to pursue their goals.Steve Wood was an accomplished, generous, witty, dedicated, individual who loved composting and who was passionate about gardening and vermicomposting. He was an active and dedicated member of the Battle Creek Church and Tulsa Master Gardener/Master Composter and often volunteered at local schools.A celebration of life is scheduled for 10:00am on 01/11/2020 at Battle Creek Broken Arrow Campus, with a reception to follow at Battle Creek Broken Arrow Campus. Dr. Alex Himaya will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Steve Wood’s life.
