Robert Zerbe's Obituary
Robert “Bob” Loyd Zerbe, Sr., the son of Fred Henry Zerbe and Lillie Irene Wray Zerbe was born on November 16, 1935 between Tulsa and Broken Arrow, Oklahoma (at that time known as Alsuma) and passed away peacefully on November 25, 2018 in Tulsa, OK at the age of 83.Bob worked in the elevator business until retirement, but he was more than that. He was an ordained preacher, had his pilot’s license, taught Sunday school, ran a few home businesses, invented and manufactured a Dish Stick, and even drove a school bus. He stayed busy as he enjoyed life. Many people thought of him as a man who could do anything. He built pine would derby cars with his sons, redid the house after the Tulsa floods, and repaired the family’s cars. If a project was looming he would work out the details and get it done. He taught so many family members and friends how to think outside the box in order to solve a problem. He is preceded in death by his wife- Willine Marie Robertson Zerbe; parents- Fred and Lillie Zerbe; Siblings- Tommy Zerbe, Harvey Zerbe, William “Bill” Zerbe, Genevieve Shanks and Sandra Wood; infant son Paul Zerbe; and friend Alta “Liz” Clark. He is survived by sisters and brothers in law- Pat and Ed Tucker, Ruth and Dean Murphey, Herb Shanks and Barbara Zerbe McMahon; sons and daughters in law, Robert L. Zerbe Jr. and Kathryn Zerbe, Dale W. Zerbe and Tina Zerbe; daughter Cheryl Zerbe; grandchildren Calvin, Christopher, W. Riley, Duncan, Mackenzie, Taylor, Daniel, Desirae, Jackson, Christian, Christy, Michael, Spencer and Peyton; exchange student granddaughters Ana Cristina of Mexicali, MX, Ana Graciela of Savannah, GA, and Ana Lucia of Mexicali, MX. He will also be dearly missed by the children and grandchildren of Alta Clark who all thought of Bob as family- Clifford and Jayne Clark, Cathy and Rick Cox, Glenda Phillips, Gayle and Dave Swink and their children.
