Roderick Frank Kasar's Obituary
Roderick Frank Kasar of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma died peacefully on January 25, 2021. Rod was born in Milwaukee Wisconsin and after graduating Notre Dame high school, he entered the US Airforce where he proudly served for four years.
Rod returned to Milwaukee and married Margery Carol Schmitt on July 7, 1962.
Rod’s passion for aviation brought the family to Oklahoma where he attended Spartan School of Aeronautics and earned his private pilot’s license.
Rod loved the Oklahoma summers spending family weekends at the lake. The annual trip to Branson became an adventure where many wonderful memories were created. And yes, Rod proved that small boats do float, even when filled with water up to the wheel.
Rod was passionate for everything aviation. His favorite hobby was building exact replicas of military aircraft. He loved taking his family to airshows across the country. He had a knack for telling many colorful stories and sharing his experiences from his time in the military overseas.
After retiring from American Airlines where he worked as a financial analyst, Rod founded Aviation Treasures and spent the next 20 years travelling the states selling aviation related merchandise.

Rod is survived by his loving wife of 58 years Margery Carol Kasar. He is also survived by his daughters, Julie and her husband JD Zumwalt, and Laura and her husband Ron Minecar. He is survived by his two grandchildren, Kimberly Twilling and her wife Kimberly, Michael Twilling and his wife Madison, and their father Dan Twilling. Rod is survived by his sister Karen Lopez and her children. He was proceeded in death by his parents Frank and Eleanor Kasar.
