Roger was previously my manager and recently a co-construction manager for the BLO POTBA project. Through my time with Roger I found that he had many passions, a few stood out to me. First, at work he coached many personnel to perform at higher levels, he did this as a man dedicated to his position but also as a man that found pleasure in others success while working on his projects or within his group. There are countless people that can attest to Roger taking them under his wing and providing them guidance within this industry. He was firm but more than fair! Roger enjoyed creating that sense of family at work. Regular weekly "choir practice" after work was one such example.
Another passion Roger regularly exposed was his overwhelming sense of pride whenever he spoke of his children. Whether it was helping his daughter move to college or going to visit Grayson's new baby boy (his first grand child) or the social media posts of him and Christian sharing a beer and a cigar during the weekend. Roger would beam whenever he talked of his children.
I am proud to say I worked with Roger at LyondellBasell and got to know him personally through our time together on POTBA. I am sorry to see him leave this world but know he was anxious to see Evan again.
Condolences to all that knew Roger, but more so to his family and children.
