Rolland Everett Been's Obituary
BEEN – Rolland Everett, 88, passed away, August 24, 2008, in Tulsa, OK. He was born February 6, 1920, to Everett and Agnes Been in Preston, IL. The family moved from Illinois to Tulsa in 1952, in order for Rolland to attend Spartan School of Aeronautics. He retired from American Airlines after 30 years of service. Rolland was a WW II veteran serving in both the European Theatre and the China-Burma-India Theatre. He was preceded in death by his parents and nine siblings. He is survived by: his wife of 65 years, Verda Been; a son and daughter- in-law, Rolland R. and Jeanne Been, Tulsa, OK; granddaughter and great-granddaughter, Rhonda and Christina Bishop, Summerville, SC; step-grand- son, John Jenkins; step great- grandchildren, Cody and Emily Jenkins, Tulsa, OK; brother and sister-in-law, Raymond and Ruth Been, Mulvane, KS; sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Joe Church, Belleville, IL. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes contributions be made to Parkview Baptist Church, 5805 S. Sheridan Rd, Tulsa, OK 74145 or the Good Shepherd Hospice, 6218 S. Lewis #110, Tulsa, OK 74136. Family to receive friends, Tuesday, August 26, 2008 from 4-6 p.m., and funeral service, Wednesday, August 27, 2008, 10 a.m., both at Floral Haven Funeral Home, 6500 S. 129th E.
