Rolland Ray Been's Obituary
Rolland R. Been passed away April 20, 2019 after battling pancreatic cancer, he was 75 years old. He was born in San Antonio, TX to Verda (Reuss)and Rolland E. Been. Rolland graduated from Nathan Hale H.S. and The University of Tulsa. He lived and worked in Muskogee until he started working for Cities Service/CITGO from 1974 until retirement 2003, where he was the Assistant Mgr Aviation Sales.Rolland loved to travel, he was an accomplished woodworker but his true passion was flyfishing, including tying all his own flies. Every state he went to, he had to find a river to fish in. Mickey Hall and nephew, David Hall were his fishing partners for a lot of years. He also got to spend the last few years joining his cousin Roger Sparling of Idaho in some fishing trips. His latest project was trying to teach his grandson Cody how to flyfish.Rolland is survived by his loving wife, Jeanne. They would have celebrated their 25th anniversary in May. He is also survived by his daughter Rhonda Brown, New Bern, NC; step-son Johnny Jenkins (Sherry) Wichita Falls, TX, grandchildren Christina Bishop New Bern, NC, Cody and Emily Jenkins Wichita Falls, TX. In-laws, Patty & James Wing, Owasso OK; Donald & Hiromi Ross, Coweta OK and Jim & Rita Orlando, Hugo MN. His Aunt Ruth Been, Mulvane KS and many loving cousins in various states as well as many friends.He is preceded in death by his parents and his step-son, Robert Wayne Jenkins.In lieu of flowers, the family request that you make donations to either American Cancer Society PO Box 35500 Tulsa, OK 74153-0500 or St. Francis Hospice 6600 S.Yale Ave. Suite 350 Tulsa, OK 74136Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel.
