Ronald Childress' Obituary
On Sunday April 28, 2024, Ronald H. Childress devoted husband to Brenda Childress was called home to be with the Lord.
His sudden death has come as a shock to all who knew and loved him.
Ron was born January 26,1947 to Fielden Childress & Lois Peacock Childress at home in Formosa Arkansas.
He graduated high school and joined the U.S. Army. Ron was proud to be a U.S. veteran who served his country.
Ron was a retired Broken Arrow Fireman. He enjoyed sharing stories of when he served on the fire department. He looked forward to Saturday mornings when he would join his fellow retired firemen for breakfast at Carl’s Jr.
Ron was an active member of First Baptist Church of Broken Arrow. He loved to go to church and Sunday School. He never missed an opportunity to serve the Lord and enjoyed fellowship with his Sunday School Class.
Ron loved cookies, often referred to as “the cookie monster”. He loved homemade cookies & muffins the ladies in the Sunday School Class baked for him.
He always had a smile, and he was ready to help or serve where ever needed.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents Fielden Childress and Lois Peacock Childress, his loving wife Brenda Childress, his brother William (Bill) Childress, his sister Bonnie Lee Williams.
Ron is survived by his son, Shan Childress - Tulsa Oklahoma, his beloved brother Jerry Childress and wife (Anna) of Broken Arrow, and his nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 1 from 4-7 PM at Floral Haven Funeral Home. Celebration of life will be held on Thursday, May 2 at 10:00 AM at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel.
