Ronald Eugene Eimen's Obituary
Ronald Eugene Eimen, passed away October 19th, 2016. He was born on April 11th, 1930 in Kankakee, Illinois. He was 86. Survivors include: wife, Sharon Eimen, sons Dr. R. Michael Eimen and wife Vicki, David Eimen and wife Cindy. Granddaughters, Rebecca Moore and husband Justin, Catherine Eimen, and Elizabeth Clowers and husband Corey. Grandsons, Dustin Eimen, Michael Eimen and wife Kelsey, and Gregory Eimen. Great Grandsons, Nolan Michael and Fenton Lee Moore. Ron was preceded in death by his father Harold “Brud” Eimen and his mother Mildred Eimen. Ron attended high school at St. Mary’s in Kankakee, Illinois and graduated from college at Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois. Ron was the only son of Harold and Millie Eimen. Ron enlisted in the United States Airforce only a few months after he had met Sharon. He was stationed in England where he found that he needed to complete his life by marrying Sharon. There, they had the first of two boys, R. Michael Eimen. After an honorable discharge, Ron, Sharon and Michael moved back to the states where he finished college. He then began his professional career in sales. David Eimen, their second son was born in Shelbyville, Illinois where Ron was employed. After taking a job with AO Smith as a Regional Sales Manager for Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Kansas, and South Dakota, Ron moved his family to Tulsa, Oklahoma where he settled, and eventually ran his own general contracting business. Tulsa was his home where he, along with his wife, wanted to live and raise their family. Those who knew Ron had the great fortune of having a friend for life. Ron was a story teller who never knew a stranger. He always had a story to be told and an adventure to talk about. He had a love for flying, restoration of antique automobiles, Las Vegas, and boating on Grand Lake. Ron and Sharon enjoyed thousands of memories and made hundreds of friends for life at Grand Lake. Ron was very proud of the accomplishments of both his boys, Dr. R. Michael Eimen of Mannford and David Eimen of Tulsa. He loved his grand children and great grand children and spent many hours telling them stories that only he could tell. But mostly, Ron was proud to have been married to his wife, Sharon, for 63 years. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations in the name of Ron, be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. There will be a visitation Sunday, October 23, 2016 from 5-7 pm at Floral Haven Funeral Home There will be a Celebration of Life Service, Monday, 12:30 pm October 24, 2016 at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel Immediately following the service there will be a reception at the Family Center located north of the Floral Haven Chapel.
