Ronald Scott Harmon's Obituary
Ronald Scott Harmon, Broken Arrow, died unexpectedly on March 22, 2016, at the age of 52.Scott was born in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, on July 10, 1963, to Ronald Walter Harmon and Sandra Sue Pierce Harmon. He graduated from Pryor (Oklahoma) High School in 1981. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Oklahoma State University. Scott moved to Tulsa where he met and married the love of his life, Lynne Ellen Gibson, on August 9, 2003.As Scott’s family and friends can attest, he lived his life to the fullest. Like most Oklahomans, Scott was a fan of college football, especially the OU Sooners. Traveling was also one of Scott’s passions—taking many cruises with his parents, Lynne, and their boys. His favorite destinations were Alaska and Scotland. Scott was an avid reader, as well. Most of all, Scott loved spending time with his cherished wife Lynne and his much-loved sons, Cooper and Brady, who were the light of his life.Scott proudly served in the United States Army and the United States Marine Corps. He continued his service as a CLEET Certified law enforcement officer and private investigator, working most recently for the Tulsa Housing Authority as an investigator.In addition to his wife and sons, Scott is also survived by his parents, Ronald and Sandra Harmon, his brother Barry Harmon and Barry’s wife, Christine, his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Shawn and Lori Pumphrey, his nephew and niece, Kyle and Jordan Pumphrey, and mother-in-law, Nona Lorene Gibson.Scott’s family and friends—in fact, all who were fortunate enough to know Scott—will always remember him as a man of integrity, who adored his family and honored and respected all with whom he came in contact. Scott Harmon’s all-too-brief life was a life well lived. Scott Harmon made a positive difference in the world and he will be greatly missed.Visitation will be held 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, March 24, 2016, at the Floral Haven Funeral Home Visitation Suites, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.A chapel service will be held 3:00 p.m., Friday, March 25, 2016, at the Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.Donations in Scott’s honor and name can be made to John 3:16 Mission, 506 N Cheyenne Ave, Tulsa, OK 74103, Tulsa, Oklahoma.
