Ronald Krater's Obituary
Lieutenant Colonel Ronald O. Krater, age 75, of Stillwater, Oklahoma passed away peacefully on Friday, October 25th surrounded by his family. He was born April 29, 1944 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Henry and Lula Krater.Ron graduated from Tulsa Central High School in 1962, receiving a scholarship to the University of Tulsa. After graduation in 1966, he met the love of his life, Linda K. Langmaid at a skating rink in Tulsa and married her on March 11, 1967. That same year he received a commission in the United States Air Force where he went on to have a successful career as a military officer working with the Titan Missile Systems, Strategic and Tactical Air Commands as well as facilities management and inspection divisions. For his distinguished service in the Gulf War, he was awarded the Bronze Star.After retiring from the military, he continued to be an instrumental part of his community through his membership with the local Lions Club and his continued careers serving Oklahoma State University and the Oklahoma Fire Marshall’s Office. While he enjoyed many things such as traveling and skiing, above all he most valued time spent with his family.Ron is preceded in death by his parents and brother Rick Krater. He is survived by his wife Linda, daughter Piper Messimore and her husband Michael, daughter Heather Mills, and four grandson’s Solomon, Lincoln, Joah and Nate; sister Debbie and husband Phil Zongker; and sister Brenda Routsong.Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 31 from 5 pm – 8 pm.Services will take place on Friday, November 1 at Floral Haven Rose Chapel.
