Ronald Glen Lawrence's Obituary
Ronald “Ron” Glen Lawrence was born on September 7th, 1936 at the Flower Hospital in Tulsa, OK. His parents were Glen V Lawrence and Carmen Hazel (Snider) Lawrence. He was their only child While working for Cashon Pontiac in Tulsa, he meet his future wife, Jearl Dean Brumley. They were married in April 1960. They had two children Eric and Vicki. Eric passed away in 1996. Vicki lives in New Mexico with her husband Robert. They have three children William, Joshua, and Mikayla.
Ron grew up in Tulsa and attended various Tulsa public schools. He graduated from Will Rogers High School in 1954. In 1960 he graduated from the University of Tulsa where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics. He also served in the US Naval Reserve. Following college, he worked at International Harvester. He later worked at Thurston, Fire and Casualty Insurance Company where he later became Vice President. In 1983 he co-purchased All Car Insurance Agency where he worked until he retired in 1998.
Ron and Jearl Dean enjoyed their retirement, having fun with their beagles Mollie and then Belle. Ron was a long-time member of the Magic Empire Coin Club for over 50 years. He rarely missed a meeting. Ron also enjoyed looking for all kinds of things with his metal detector. He also had a great love of history and was still reading during his last illness. Jearl Dean passed away in 2018 and Ron was able to live independently in Tulsa.
A visitation time with the family will be from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM with the memorial service at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, February 22nd, at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel.
