Ronald Lee Pritchett was born on June 2, 1940 in Jay, Oklahoma. He passed from this life on August 10, 2022 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma at the age of 82 years 2 months and 8 days.
Ron attended Jay public schools, graduating in 1958. He attended Northeastern Oklahoma A&M in Miami, Oklahoma on a baseball scholarship as a left-handed pitcher. He achieved his bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma and later acquired his masters’ degree from Southern Missouri University in Joplin, Missouri.
He taught 6th Grade for 35 years in Webb City, Missouri. After retiring from teaching he worked with troubled youths for the state of Missouri.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Verna Lee (Duncan) Pritchett, a brother, Michael Ray Pritchett and a sister, Kathy (Pritchett) Earp. He leaves behind his sister, Denise (Mike) Fagan of the home, his brother, Kevin (Judy) Pritchett Sr of Pryor, Oklahoma, 3 nephews: Johnnie Ray Earp of Jay, Oklahoma, Michael Fagan II of Owasso, Oklahoma, and Kevin Pritchett Jr of Salina, Oklahoma, 3 nieces: Bridgette Mercer, Catherine Deliz, and Connie Wilson all of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and 15 great nieces and nephews.
