Ronald E Ryan's Obituary
Ronald E. Ryan was born May 28, 1940 in Okemah, Oklahoma to Floyd and Pauline Ryan and went home to be with the Lord on May 14, 2004. Ron graduated from Okemah High School in 1958. He attended Oklahoma Christian College and completed his education at Connors State College with a degree in Police Science. Ron retired from the Tulsa Police Department in 1986 after 21 years of service. Following his retirement, he served as Head of Security at St. Francis Hospital. He was an active member of the Tulsa International Church of Christ. Ron was preceded in death by his mother, an infant sister, and his mother-in-law, Barney and Nellie Lightfoot.A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 22, 2004 at 12:30 P.M. in the Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma with Reverend Maurice Hooks officiating. A private family burial will be held at a later date in Okemah, Oklahoma.Survived By: his wife of 27 years, Carolyn, his children, Rob Ryan of Carrolton, Texas, Shelley Smith of Lubbock, Texas, Renee’ Whiddon of Waco, Texas, Don, Ronnie and Larry Jackson of Tulsa, Vicki Barnes of Tulsa, 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Other survivors include his father, Floyd E. Ryan of Prague (formerly of Okemah) and sisters, Pat McLaughlin of Prague and Jan Gotcher of Edmond.
