Ronald Lee Taylor's Obituary
Ronald Lee Taylor was born on June 5, 1948, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Troy and Margie Taylor. He passed peacefully from this life into his Heavenly Home on February 8, 2026, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 77.
Ron spent his childhood in Tulsa. He enjoyed playing sports. He was active in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. He graduated from Tulsa Central High School, class of 1966. He attended college for two years at NEO A&M in Miami, Oklahoma.
In his late teen years, Ron gave his life to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, while attending Winnetka Heights Baptist Church in Tulsa.
In August of 1969, he married Virginia Young in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Together, they had 3 children.
That same year, Ron went to work for Oklahoma Natural Gas Company in Tulsa. This job turned into a lifetime career that spanned more than 40 years of faithful service. He started out jumping fences as a meter-reader and advanced through the company to retire as an Area Manager.
Ron also spent many years as a bi-vocational music and youth minister in several churches, including Winnetka Heights Baptist Church of Tulsa, Calvary Baptist Church in Okmulgee, and Oneta Road Baptist Church in Broken Arrow. His time spent in ministry produced lifelong friendships and impacted many lives for the Kingdom of God.
Ron was a skilled craftsman. He was most accomplished in upholstery and wood working - both of which he turned into small, side-hustle businesses.
On June 14th of 1993, Ron married Robin Ferrill. They moved to Anadarko, Oklahoma, where they had 2 children.
During his time in Anadarko Ron was a member of the Rotary Club, the Anadarko Chamber of Commerce, the Fort Cobb Reservoir Master Conservancy Board, and the Anadarko Economic Development Board.
He enjoyed being involved in his kids' activities. He was a coach for numerous soccer, baseball, & football teams over the years, and was always active in supporting the school and communities where his kids were involved.
He found joy in taking pictures and documenting special occasions as well as everyday life. Those pictures will help memories live on for many.
As much as he loved his kids, Ron’s heart was stolen by his grandkids. He loved spending time with them and bragging about them to anyone who would listen. And in turn, all the grands loved their KeePaw/Papa.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Troy and Margie Taylor, and his brother Mike Taylor.
He is survived by his wife Robin, of the home; son, Jason Taylor and wife, Christy, of Webb City, MO; daughter, Jamie McDonald and husband, Jeff, of Jenks, OK; son, Jerod Taylor of Chickasha, OK; son, Justin Taylor and wife, Brigitte, of Yukon, OK; daughter, Jordan Huertas and husband, Dylan, of Tulsa, OK.
Grandchildren, Abbye, Ainsley, Ember, Adlee, Axton, Gianni, Killian, and Doechi.
Sister, Patty Speaker and husband, Bob, of Stillwater, OK; along with numerous other family and friends
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 14, at 12:30pm, at the Floral Haven Family Center in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
