Ronald O. Watson's Obituary
Ronald Ode Watson passed away Wednesday morning, July 10, 2013 at the age of 65 in Broken Arrow, OK. Ron is preceded in death by his parents, Claude Ode Watson and Dalphna Watson House, and his son, Dustin Ode Watson. He is survived by wife, Anita Watson; his daughter, Wendi Watson Doyle and her husband Bill, his grandchildren Cole and Briana Doyle of Oconomowoc, WI; and his grandson Brandon Chandler Young. He was also close to stepson Jason MacZura and wife Amber, their children Michael Bauer, Jeffrey and Jacob MacZura, of Frisco, TX; father-in law Robert Engle of Tulsa, OK; brother-in-law Steven Engle and wife Toni of Bullhead City, AZ; and numerous other family members and friends. A Master Electrician and member in IBEW Local 584 for 45 years, Ron worked for many contractors on jobs all over the Tulsa area. He enjoyed working on construction projects and repairs at home, also giving his time and skills to neighbors and friends. Ron was quite athletic, running track in high school and winning several awards. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting, and canoeing. He played in an adult softball league and coached girls' softball. Ron had a good sense of humor and thought of others. He enjoyed westerns and the television show Walker Texas Ranger.Ron attended Lindbergh Elementary School and Whitney Junior High, graduating from Nathan Hale High School in 1966. He was a longtime member of Modern Woodmen of America. A member of Fellowship Christian Church in Broken Arrow, Ron was also a past member of East Tulsa Christian Church and Forest Park Christian Church in Tulsa.Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 pm Sunday at Floral Haven Funeral Home. His memorial service will be held Monday, July 15 at 10 am. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Animal Aid of Tulsa, 3307 East 15th Street, Tulsa, OK 74112.
