Ronald Eugene West's Obituary
Ronald Eugene West, 73, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on September 22, 2024. Born on June 13, 1951, Ron lived a life full of love, adventure, and passion.
Ron married the love of his life, Linda (Wheeler) West, on February 7, 1970. Their love story spanned over five decades, filled with cherished memories and unwavering devotion.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Linda West; his daughter Shannon and her husband James Monnig; and his daughter-in-law Wendy West. Ron was a proud grandfather to Michael West Jr. and his girlfriend Allie, and Austin J.R. West and his wife Alyssa. He is also survived by his siblings Bob and his wife Pat West, and Deb West; his niece Celeste and her husband Mark Back; his nephew Mark Lewis; his great-nephew John and his wife Beth Lewis and their children Jack and Kate; his great-nephew Gabrielle and his wife Taylor Lewis and their children Brooks and Maelee; and his great-nephew Matthew Lewis. Ron leaves behind a host of other family and friends who will forever miss and love him.
Ron is reunited in heaven with his parents, Chuck and Ilene West; his son, Michael West Sr.; his sister-in-law, Beverly Wheeler; and his father and mother-in-law, Bill and Florence Wheeler.
Ron was known for his love of racing, especially NASCAR. He was an avid football fan, always cheering on his OU Sooners. His passion for Sci-Fi movies, particularly “Predator,” was well-known among his family and friends. Ron also loved bowling and had a deep appreciation for classic cars, always dreaming of owning an old Ford Falcon.
Growing up in California, Ron was the quintessential surfer, often skipping classes to enjoy a perfect day at the beach. His wife fondly recalls that he never outgrew his surfer tendencies, becoming an “old surfer” in his later years.
Ronald Eugene West will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, his love for his family, and his zest for life. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
