Ron will always have a special place in my family's heart. We knew him to be a kind, generous, and giving person. It was a privilege to be his friend.
My husband and I live in a different state, but my 90 year-old Mother-in-law lived near Ron. Ron not only did remodeling work in her house to help, but also frequently ran errands for her. We cannot tell you how thankful we were for his efforts. He did not have to do any of that, but Ron was that kind of guy. He was always looking for ways to serve the Lord by serving others.
In years past, Ron also volunteered for me and my brother, Richard, at Grace Fellowship Church. Richard says this about Ron, "He was truly a good, likable guy who had a heart to serve. He was always dependable and always in good spirits." It could be said that over the years he was the most faithful and diligent volunteer we had. Ron always had a smile and always made your day better.
In thinking of Ron, I am reminded of a scripture in the book of Revelation: "Then I heard a voice from heaven saying to me, 'Write: 'Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.'" "Yes," says the Spirit, "that they may rest from their labors, and their works follow them." (Revelation 14:13) Ron will be greatly missed on this side of Heaven, but we know he is now in the presence of the Lord and experiencing an abundant reward.
