Roy Johnson, after celebrating his 100-year-old birthday party last month, passed away on February 13, 2023. Roy Eugene Johnson was born on January 2, 1923, one of four children born to Tim and Izetta Johnson in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. His father was a machinist and his mother was a homemaker.
Roy graduated from Seminole HS, met his wife Joyce Eaton on a blind date, were married in 1942, and enjoyed 58 years of a great marriage until her passing in 2010. He and Joyce moved to a log home on Lake Tenkiller for 18 years before moving back to Tulsa. They enjoyed many years of travelling in their RV and exploring the country with friends in their Good Sam’s Club and with their family. He particularly loved the mountains of Colorado, and spent many years there with his family fishing, hiking, and camping.
