Lowers, Roy Floyd's Obituary
Roy Lowers Jr. Age 73 , died in Tulsa, Ok on December 1st, 2025.
Born on April 11th, 1952, in California to parents Nancy and Roy Lowers Sr. He married Charlotte Kuykendall on April 3rd, 1971, and graduated from McClain High School in 1970. Roy retired from Hesselbein Tire after 34 years of employment.
Though we feel the weight of loss, we also remember a life that was full, loud, and entirely of Roy’s own. Roy is survived by his two daughters, Jaynie and Jennifer; his sons-in-law, Scott and Johnny; and his two granddaughters, Leighton and Railey. He leaves behind many other family and friends.
The love of Roy’s life- his partner and steady ground- passed away this past January. Losing her left a space in him that only she could fill. That is why it brings us comfort knowing he will be laid to rest with her.
Roy lived a life of hard work, passion for his customers who became friends, family and a love of all things racing. He was full of fun, toys, practical jokes, and inappropriate comments. Most folks new Roy Boy by the roar of an engine. Racing was in his blood. If not behind the wheel, he would watch racing on TV. Later in life he built a dirt oval for RC racing where he frequently won.
In his final years, Parkinsons’s changed pieces of him, and sometimes we did not always recognize the man we had always known. But even then, beneath the struggle, he was still Roy.
Roy passed peacefully on December 1st. We take comfort in knowing his body is whole again, reunited with the woman he loved, and probably already looking for a dirt track. Let us remember the laughs, the jokes, the games and of course #67. He lived a big full life.
Rest easy and give her a big hug from all of us.
There will be a small graveside service for family and close friends on Monday, December 15th at Floral Haven.
