Roy Parsons, passed away on August 13, 2025, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 75.
Born February 25, 1950, in Tulsa to Robert and Mabel Parsons, Roy lived a life marked by deep faith, boundless curiosity, and unwavering kindness. On August 29, 1969, Roy married the love of his life, Rita Smith, in Muskogee, Oklahoma. Their partnership was one of deep commitment, faith, and love, and together they built a life centered around family, service, and learning.
He went on to attend Oklahoma Christian and Northeastern State University, where he cultivated his love of learning. Roy became certified in all fields of mathematics and spent his career sharing that love with students. He had a particular fondness for Latin and Greek, and his enthusiasm for TI calculators was legendary among those who knew him. Whether it was discussing math theories, fixing computers, or diving into the world of science fiction, Roy was always learning and always sharing.
Roy never met a stranger. His warmth and generosity touched countless lives, from classrooms to congregations. For 25 years, he served faithfully as an elder at North Sheridan Church of Christ, where he taught Bible with the ones he loved. His commitment to Christ and to others was evident in all he did.
