Roy D. Scott's Obituary
Roy D. Scott Roy Don Scott was born in Sioux City, Iowa on August 31, 1917 to Harry G. and Lillian E. Scott and marched from this world on He graduated from East High School in Sioux City, IA. During WWII, he enlisted in the Marine Corps and served aboard the USS Pensacola in the Pacific as an anti-aircraft gunner and as the ship's bugler. After working for 30 years as a service technician for Friden Business Machines, he retired. He worked as a salesman for Oil Capitol Electronics for nearly 10 years. He was a member of Faith Cumberland Presby. Church and was a former member of St. Andrews Presby. Church, both of Tulsa. He was a 60+ year member of both the Masonic Order (Tyrian Lodge #508, Sioux City, Iowa) and the Knights of Pythias (Silver Plume #182 and Tulsa Lodge #276). In the KoP, he was a Past Grand Chancellor of both Iowa and Oklahoma; served as Grand Secretary of Oklahoma for 15 years; several terms as Supreme Rep and was extremely active in the local lodges. He was very involved in the board of Tulsa Pythian Manor, which manages two HUD-subsidized housing complexes in Tulsa. He was a member of American Legion Post #1 and served on the Honor Guard for many years. He was Past President of the Loyal Order of Ruptured Ducks (WWII veterans). In May of 2010, he was on the Inaugural Oklahoma Honor Flight to Washington D.C. for veterans to visit the WWII memorial. He had an incredible memory and extreme attention to detail. He liked to travel, read extensively, loved to fix things and to play with his grand and great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, please send memorial donations to the American Heart Association. December 18, 2010 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother and sister-in-law, Harold C. and Ruth F. Scott, and his wife of over 60 years Genevieve LoRee Graves Scott He is survived by: Daughters: Carol Sue Corley and husband Jess Corley; Donna LoRee Lee and husband Jimmy Lee; and Son: Harold George Scott and wife Leslie Scott, all of Tulsa. Grandchildren: Brian Jason Corley and wife Michelle Corley of Piedmont, OK; Linda Diane Floyd and husband Ryan Floyd of Jenks; Therman Roy Lee of Tulsa; Edwin Scott Lee and wife Caitlin Lee of Stillwater; Emily Anne Scott; Daniel Thomas Scott, of Tulsa. Great-grandchildren: Brittani Kay Lee and Brooke Lauren Lee of Tulsa; Gibson Scott Lee and Daxton Foster Lee of Stillwater; Carson Jacob Corley of Piedmont.
