Ruby Darlene Akins' Obituary
Ruby Darlene Akins, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on October 15, 2023, at the age of 77. She was born on August 19, 1946, and left this world surrounded by the love and comfort of her family.
Ruby is survived by her loving daughter, Tammie, and son-in-law, Steve Bachlor. She was a doting grandmother to Jessica and her spouse, Shay, as well as Laney and Lakyn. Her great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Kasey, Annie, Brylie, and Lavinia, brought immense joy to her life. She is also survived by her devoted daughter-in-law, Leslee Retheford, and her closest friends, Lee and Donna Wright, along with a host of other family and friends who cherished her presence.
Ruby's life was a testament to her kindness and generosity. She had a passion for gardening, nurturing her beautiful garden and sharing her love of nature with those around her. Her warm and welcoming home was a gathering place for friends, who found solace and joy in her company.
In memory of Ruby's life, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to organizations dedicated to the research of Bone Cancer, Lung Cancer, or Breast Cancer. It was her wish that her journey with these illnesses might contribute to a brighter future for others.
Ruby is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gary Akins, her son, Bryan Akins, and her parents, Bob and Pat Younger. While she may no longer be with us in person, her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Ruby Darlene Akins was a remarkable woman who touched the lives of many with her kindness and generosity. She will be deeply missed, and her legacy of love and friendship will be remembered forever.
