Ruby M. (Odstrcil) Fuller's Obituary
Ruby was born on August 27, 1926, in Cooks Point, Texas and arrived in Heaven on September 24, 2024. Ruby was the daughter of Henry and Lottie Odstrcil.
Ruby attended high school in Franklin, Texas and after graduation began her working career at Western Union in Gainesville, Texas. Ruby laughed when she would talk about sending telegrams and signing her name Ruby Odstrcil – the transmissions would always come back “last name garbled” – which she thought was hilarious and would result in a big laugh. While working at the Western Union office, she met a “very attractive” customer, LaMoine Fuller, who would come in to send information from the Mid-Continent Supply local facility to the home office in Ft. Worth. Ruby and LaMoine were married on June 3, 1951. Ruby and LaMoine had two children – Tom (1955) and Carla (1959). After Tom and Carla were out of the home, Ruby began working in the heat and air conditioning distribution industry with Carrier. She made many friends while there with fellow employees, heat and air business owners and their technicians.
Ruby was predeceased by her husband LaMoine, daughter and special needs angel Carla, her parents, her brother Edd Odstrcil, sisters Bert Singer and Helen Wiederhold, a daughter-in-law Ann, as well as a number of other family members and friends which is expected when you reach the age of 98 years old.
Ruby is survived by her son, Tom and his wife Terri, her grandsons, Bryan Fuller, Brett Fuller and his wife Taylor, and Taylor Huddleston and his wife Shai. She also had five great grandchildren, Dakota Fuller, Hadley Huddleston, Blake Fuller, Austin Fuller and Krew Huddleston. Ruby is also survived by two sisters, Henrietta Cunningham and Lottie Ann Arnold, her brother, Bobby Odstrcil, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Ruby was privileged to be assisted during the last years of her life by numerous loving, compassionate and talented caregivers. Although there are far too many to name individually; however, her family truly appreciates each and every one of them. Her family thanks you very much!
During the past year, Ruby was a resident of CEARU Medical Resort and received excellent care in the extended stay section of the facility. Ruby enjoyed meeting new friends and participating in all the social events and activities, especially Bingo! Thank you to the staff and residents of CEARU for making the environment fun and fulfilling. The last month of care was coordinated by Cura-HPC Hospice whose staff provided excellent care.
