Ruby B Thomas' Obituary
Thomas – Ruby B., age 89, of Jenks, OK, formerly of Tulsa, OK passed away Sunday, February 4, 2006. Ruby was born September 2, 1916 to Oscar and Ollie Gulley in Figure 5, Arkansas. She grew up in the Van Buren, Arkansas area before moving to Los Angeles, CA, to work building airplanes during WWII. While in California, Ruby married and had her first child. Following WWII, Ruby returned with her family to Tulsa where she pursued several successful careers and participated in civic and community organizations. She was a member of the Sweet Adelines Chorus and the Eastern Star. For many years, Ruby owned and operated The Lady Kay Beauty Salon on East Admiral Place in Tulsa. In later years, she succeeded in several other business pursuits, including insurance sales, and as a Shaklee Distributor. Ruby is preceded in death by her husband, F.O.Boss Thomas, also from Arkansas; parents; and brothers Roy, Noel, and Clyde Gulley. She is survived by 2 daughters, Candy K. Parnell and Trena R. Thomas, and grandson, Dylan T. Clem, all of Jenks, OK, as well as numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Funeral service will be held Friday, February, 10 at 12:30 pm at the Floral Haven Chapel, 6500 South 129th East Avenue, Broken Arrow. Viewing is available from noon Wednesday until Thursday at 9 pm at the Floral Haven Funeral Home, 252-2518.Survived By: She is survived by 2 daughters, Candy K. Parnell and Trena R.
