Ruby Zuniga's Obituary
Ruby Elaine Zuniga, age 79, went home to be with the Lord on March 24, 2026, at Saint Francis Hospital after a long fight with diabetes and dementia.
Ruby was born on February 8, 1947, in Mesa, Arizona, to the parents of Benjamin Porter Harrison and Tavy Irene Harrison. She attended Achille High School in Oklahoma, where her intelligence led her to graduate a year early. She then went on to complete two more years of education. After college, Ruby went on to work in telecommunications at Southwestern Bell, then later moved to St. Louis, Missouri, where she continued her work for 22 years and raised her two children. Ruby then moved back to her home state of Oklahoma to take a job at MCI WorldCom. After working, she retired to travel the world and take care of her family. Ruby loved to garden, sew, cook/bake, play piano, and volunteer at different organizations in her free time. She also loved to spend her time at the church, where she became a Head Deaconess at Adventist Fellowship Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Gerald Masangale. She is survived by her loving children, Allen Masangale and Valerie Baber, grandchildren Trevor Masangale and Haley Baber, and great grandchildren Liam and Braden Masangale, who were the lights of her life. She is also survived by her husband, Valentino Zuniga, of 6 years, who took great care of her until her final days. In addition, Ruby is remembered by many extended family members and friends who love and will deeply miss her.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 31, at 11:00 AM at Adventist
Fellowship Church with Pastor Rick Mercer officiating. The church will provide lunch shortly after at 12:00 PM, and a burial will follow in the Floral Haven Cemetery at 1:30 PM. All friends and family are welcome.
Psalm 23
The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.
