Russell was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Gene, Tom and Loga.
Russell grew up in Lawndale California where he loved playing baseball, football and hanging out on the Strand at Hermosa Beach. He loved watching the Dodgers play ball and would proudly argue with anyone who said they never played at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum because in his words,” I know better I was there!”. Russell was a proud citizen of the Seminole tribe of Oklahoma as well as a Muscogee (Creek) Native.
Russell was an avid college football and softball fan and he dared anyone to disrupt him during an OU game, but he loved nothing in the world more than bragging on his grand kids playing football, baseball, and softball. Russell loved all genres of music and being brought up in the 60’s and 70’s California scene he loved educating people on the intent of music of that era or as he put it “understanding their head”. He loved sitting outside, and going to the water, and just letting his mind wander. Russell will never be forgotten by those who loved him and his passing has left a huge space in the lives of his family.
A celebration of life is being planned at a later date.
