Russellena "Rusty" Covington Fleetwood's Obituary
Russellena Covington Fleetwood was born to Russell and Pearl Davis on September 4,
1934 in Coal County, OK . She graduated from Central High School in Tulsa OK in 1952, and
whether you knew her back then or just met her the other day, you 're likely to know her as
"Rusty." She met Robert Covington early in life , they married December 10, 1951 and raised 3
boys - Russell Eugene, Larry Earl and Ronald Melvin . Rusty went to her heavenly home to be
with our Lord on March 5, 2024 in Broken Arrow OK at the age of 89 .
Rusty spent the majority of her career working several years in the oil industry before
making a change. The next, and final, chapter in her career presented her the opportunity to
work for The Gatesway Foundation, which she found great joy in doing before making the
decision to retire .
In her spare time, Rusty's favorite hobbies were camping and square dancing, which is
where she met and married Kenny Fleetwood. They enjoyed each other's company so much
that from then on , they loved doing anything that allowed them to spend time together right up
until the moment he passed away on July 13, 2018.
Rusty is survived in death by son Russell and his wife, Debbie; son Larry and his wife ,
Connie:, son Ron and his wife, Sherry; 8 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 2
great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Jo Suttle, along with several nieces and other loving
relatives.
She is preceded in death by husbands Robert Covington and Kenny Fleetwood; parents
Russell and Pearl Davis; and sister Kathy Yates.
The family has entrusted Floral Haven Funeral Home with the arrangements, with
services being held Monday, March 11 at 12:30 pm at the Floral Haven Chapel. Visitation will
take place Sunday, March 10 from 4-6 pm, with family greeting everyone from 4-6 pm.
The family would also like to extend an invitation for everyone to join them at a reception
immediately following the service in the Floral Haven Family Center.
