Ruth Ellen Applegate's Obituary
Ruth Ellen Applegate, 79 of Hodgen, Oklahoma passed from this life on Friday, December 4, 2020 in a Poteau, Oklahoma hospital. She was born July 18, 1941 in Page, Oklahoma to her parents, Ollie Cantrell Parker and Orene Mae Queen Parker. She married the love of her life, James Applegate on September 9, 1962 at Luke Air Force Base in Arizona and they have shared in over 58 wonderful years together.
Ruth is survived by her loving husband, James Applegate of the home; three children, Roberta Applegate of Hodgen, Oklahoma, Gary Applegate and his wife Jane of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and Becky Applegate and her husband Jeff Scott of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two sisters, Gloria Williams and her husband Charles of Hodgen, Oklahoma and Wanda Shockley of Glendale, Arizona; six grandchildren, Greg, Kyle, Ciara, Cheyenne, Lance and Austin; three great-grandchildren, Jaxxon, Kolby and Jo Anna; and many friends and extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ollie and Orene Parker and six siblings.
A memorial service will be at 2:00 PM on Friday, January 22, 2021 at the Floral Haven Funeral Home's Rose Chapel.
