Ruth Ellen Archer, beloved mother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2025, at the age of 60. She was born on July 6, 1965, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, to William Leon Bethea Sr. and Nellie Joyce Cady Bethea.
Ruth earned her Associate’s Degree in Accounting from Tulsa Community College and devoted much of her professional life to helping others through her work in mental health with Family and Children’s Services. Her compassion, patience, and dedication made a lasting impact on the many lives she touched.
Outside of work, Ruth found joy in life’s simple pleasures—watching movies, reading a good book, and cheering proudly at Leon’s football games. Her greatest happiness came from spending time with her family, whose love and laughter filled her days.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, William Leon Bethea Sr. and Nellie Joyce Cady Bethea; her sister, Elise Bethea Patterson. Her Daughter, Elizabeth Sandbria Archer. David Archer, her son Charles's father. Her son Charles Archer, and Emmet Carl Spencer, her son Emmet's father.
She is survived by her son, Emmet Leon Spencer. Her Grandsons, Dylan Archer, and Mateo Leon Spencer. Her daughter in laws, Izy Spencer, and Julie Archer. Her brothers, Bill Bethea, and Tom Bethea, and her sister Diana Bethea. Ruth’s memory will also live on in the hearts of her extended family and countless friends who will remember her warmth, wit, and unwavering kindness.
Ruth’s life was a testament to love and resilience. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished by all who knew her.
