Salvacion Falar Trinidad's Obituary
Salvacion "Sally" Falar Trinidad, 85, of Burke, VA, peacefully passed away on October 11, 2024 at the Capital Caring Adler Center in Aldie, VA after suffering a stroke. Born on April 23, 1939, in Calape, Bohol, Philippines, to Luis Falar and Antonia Banga Falar, Sally was predeceased by her beloved husband of 54 years, Ireneo Reyes Trinidad, her parents and four siblings.
Sally leaves behind a large extended family and many cherished friends across the United States, the Philippines, and Canada. Though she had no children of her own, she helped raise many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews, all of whom lovingly called her "Mama Ping." Sally and her husband also cared for the children of their friends and fellow church members, creating a warm and nurturing home.
Famous for her delicious Filipino cooking and baking, especially her ensaymada, Sally brought warmth and joy to everyone around her. She was known for her comforting, compassionate and loving nature, always making people feel welcome. She cherished the time spent with her loved ones, particularly celebrating her 85th birthday on a two-week Mediterranean cruise, where she visited many historic sites like La Sagrada Família in Barcelona and the House of the Virgin Mary in Ephesus, Turkey. A devout Catholic, she was an active parishioner of Nativity Catholic Church in Burke.
After immigrating to New York City in 1970, Sally worked for Blue Cross Blue Shield in Manhattan before moving to Burke in 1983. She later worked for many years at First Virginia Bank’s headquarters.
Visitation will be held at the Floral Haven Funeral Home, 6500 S. 129th E. Ave (Olive St), Broken Arrow, OK, on October 23rd, 4-6 PM (Central Daylight Time) followed by a rosary prayer. The Funeral Mass will take place at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, 301 S. 9thSt., Broken Arrow, on October 24th at 10 AM. Interment will take place at Calvary Cemetery at 9101 S. Harvard Ave. in Tulsa at 12 PM, followed by a reception at 1 PM at the Floral Haven Family Center in Broken Arrow.
