Sammie Lou Cox's Obituary
Sammie Lou Cox, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, family member and friend; born Saturday, October 20, 1923 in Chapman, Kansas to her loving parents, Samuel & Margaret Shepard; went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 9, 2016 in Tulsa, Oklahoma with her loving family by her side. A longtime resident of the Tulsa area Sammie and her beloved husband worked together owning and operating several business side by side; including a mail suite in Oklahoma City, a car dealership in Miami, home construction in Tulsa. When able to she would attend the Joy Lutheran Church in Tulsa regularly for many years. Fond memories will always be cherished of her as the devoted wife and mother that she was; she will be deeply missed by all those who had their lives touched by her. Sammie is preceded in death by her loving parents, Samuel & Margaret Shepard and her dearly loved brother, Dale Shepard. Sammie is survived by her beloved husband of seventy-one years, Bill J. Cox; her loving son, Craig Cox & wife Paula; her two dearly loved grandchildren, Carie Cox and Jason Cox; her three precious grandchildren, Lauren Schmitt, Joseph Schmitt and Rachel Schmitt; her loving nieces & nephews, Steve Shepard & wife Zina and June Shepard and numerous other loving family members and friends. A graveside service will be held on Monday, September 19, 2016 at 1:00PM at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens. Services have been entrusted to Floral Haven Funeral Home, Floral Shop, Crematory & Memorial Gardens, 6500 S 129th E Avenue; Broken Arrow, Oklahoma 74012.
