Sandra Jane Hayes' Obituary
Sandra Jane Hayes, 84, of Gardner, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully in her home on April 20th, 2025 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Born on September 21st, 1940, in Gardner Massachusetts, Sandra grew up on Emerald Street in Gardner, and attended Gardner High School, where she was active in numerous school clubs, and known as a star twirler, and majorette. After high school, Sandra obtained a degree in nursing from St. Vincent Hospital Nursing School and began a career in nursing that spanned almost 50 years.
During nursing school, Sandra met the love of her life, William Hayes, Jr. and the couple were married on September 12, 1964, in Gardner, MA. Bill and Sandy celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in September 2024.
Whether working as a registered nurse, or caring for her family, Sandra always put the needs of others before her own. She graciously and selflessly raised four children and played an active role in her grandchildren’s lives. Her nurturing ways always came through whether caring for her patients or her family.
Sandra enjoyed tole painting, reading, playing bridge, and clothes shopping, which always allowed her to put her exceptional fashion sense to use. Sandra was also a devout Catholic and enjoyed attending church regularly with her family.
Sandra is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Gladys Stuckey, her son, John, and sister Pamela. She is survived by her husband William Hayes, Jr., sister, Barbara, and children, Christopher, and his wife Jovi, Kellie, Jennifer, and her wife Heather, Rebecca, and grandchildren, Zac, Belle, William, and Sam.
There will be a family visitation Thursday, April 24th, 2025 from 4:00-7:00 pm at Floral Haven Funeral Home in Tulsa, Oklahoma. A graveside service will be Friday April 25th 2025 at 1:30 pm at Calvary Cemetery in Tulsa.
