Sandra Louise "Sandi" Sanders' Obituary
Sandra Louise "Sandi" Sanders
July 11, 1947 – September 13, 2025
With deep love and profound sadness, the family of Sandra Louise “Sandi” Sanders announces her passing on September 13, 2025, in Bixby, Oklahoma, at the age of 78.
Born on July 11, 1947, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Sandi lived a life marked by unwavering faith, devotion to family, and a heart for service. She married her lifelong love, Robert David Sanders, on December 23, 1965, in Tulsa. Together, they built a beautiful life rooted in compassion, generosity, and shared purpose—celebrating nearly six decades of marriage.
Sandi’s faith was the cornerstone of her life. She dedicated countless hours to teaching Sunday School in the Children’s and preschool ministries for 50 years, nurturing young hearts with patience and joy. Alongside Dave, she actively supported both local and international missions, extending her care far beyond her own community.
Professionally, Sandi served as an administrative assistant at Floral Haven Funeral Home, where her warmth and grace comforted many during life’s most tender moments. Her work was more than a job—it was an extension of her empathy and strength.
Sandi loved being outside and she loved to travel. Sandi and Dave traveled extensively to warm climates where they enjoyed scuba diving, excursions and chilling on the beach. Sandi's two "happy places" were in Mexico and on her back porch with the Koi pond. Above all, Sandi was a proud and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her greatest joy came from celebrating the lives and accomplishments of her family. She leaves behind a legacy of love and encouragement that will echo through generations.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 59 years, Robert David Sanders; her children, Robert Mark Sanders (Alicia) and Rebecca Shawn Sanders-Neufeld (Lane); grandchildren, Andrea and Patrick Monks, Kaitlen and Chris McCarty, Hailey and Patrick Nickel, Kara and Caden Farmer, KarlieJo Sanders, Rachel and Beau Hanley, Chloe and Sammy Potter, and Celia Neufeld; and great-grandchildren, Hadley, Moses, Grayden, August, Audrey, Harrison, and Grace.
Sandi’s life was a testament to kindness, faith, and family. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
The visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, on Wednesday, September 17th, at Floral Haven Funeral Home. A celebration of Sandi's life will be held at 11:00 AM, on Thursday, September 18th, at Battle Creek Church South Campus
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to the preschool ministry of Battlecreek South Tulsa, honoring Sandi’s love of children and lifelong commitment to spreading love and hope.
