Sara Jo Daulton's Obituary
Sara Jo Daulton was born on November 7, 1972 in Lakewood, Colorado; the daughter of Gregg L. Lorimor and Alice J. Anderson. Sara passed away on Thursday, April 13, 2017 at her father’s home on Grand Lake in northeast Oklahoma.Sara lived in many different places throughout the country during her childhood. She graduated high school in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma in 1991. On August 13, 1994 she married Todd C. Sparks in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Together they had two beautiful daughters, Sunni Jo Sparks and Abby Elizabeth Sparks. On November 21, 2009 Sara married Michael W. Daulton in Las Vegas, Nevada and they lived together on Michael’s acreage in Wagoner Co., Oklahoma.Sara graduated with a bachelors degree in accounting from Oklahoma State University in 1995. She worked in Oil and Gas accounting for several years. In 1997 Sara helped found StreetCats, Inc., a non-profit cat rescue and adoption organization in Tulsa. With her mother she also co-founded and operated her own business, The Catnip Cottage, a cat boarding facility in Tulsa. In addition to animals, Sara enjoyed camping and fishing. She was passionate about cooking and was one of those rare people who could throw spices and food together without a recipe and have it come out tasting awesome. She was an avid NASCAR fan, attending several NASCAR races with her husband Mike. She was a life long Denver Bronco fan and was a big supporter of the Oklahoma State Cowboys football and basketball teams. Sara was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Grove, Oklahoma.Sara is survived by her husband Mike Daulton of Broken Arrow; her father Gregg Lorimor of Afton, Oklahoma: her mother Alice Lorimor of Santa Fe, New Mexico; mother-in-law Verlene Sanders of Broken Arrow; sister Stacy Lytle of Santa Fe; brother Scott Lorimor of Salt Lake City; daughters Sunni Sparks of Houston and Abby Sparks of Tulsa; sons Damon Daulton and Dylan Daulton and daughter Kandice Daulton of Broken Arrow; nieces Evie, Mia and Maggie Lytle of Santa Fe, aunt and uncle Mike and Diane Lorimor of Phoenix as well as many other family and friends who loved her.Charitable donations in Sara’s memory are encouraged to StreetCats, Inc., 6520 E. 60th St., Tulsa, Oklahoma, www.streetcatstulsa.org.
