Sarah Mae "Gallion" Rhodes' Obituary
Sarah Mae Gallion Rhodes, 84, of Tulsa went to be with the Lord Monday July 25, 2005. Born in Natchitoches, LA. She was a homemaker and lived most of her adult life in New Orleans, LA, Rogers AR, and Tulsa. She and her late husband, the late Arthur J. “Dusty” Rhodes hosted a retreat near Beaver Lake, Sonshine Acres; led Bible Study in their New Orleans home for 15 years; and were active in FGBMFI. She was an active member of Christian Chapel, Tulsa, and its Keenagers group, as well as Fellowship of Christian Writers. She led a women’s prayer group in her New Orleans Home for 20 years and in her University Village home for 5 years. She dedicated her life to serving God and caring for her family. Everyone blessed enough to know her was touched by her boundless love, Godly wisdom, and courageous strength. She passed on a great spiritual heritage to her family and friends. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two children, Sarah Elizabeth “Betty” Rhodes of New Orleans and Arthur J. “Jimmy” Rhodes Jr. of Tulsa; two brothers and sisters-in-law , Z.T. and Helen Gallion of Columbus, MS, and Merrill and Vel Gallion of Shreveport, LA; two sisters and one brother in-law, Ed and Lillian Imle of El Paso, TX and Mary Myers of Atlanta, GA. There is an ongoing reunion in heaven. A funeral service was held on July 29, 2005 at 10:00 A.M. in the Floral Haven Chapel.Survived By: Her son Robert Rhodes of Phoenix,AZ and two daughters and sons-in-laws Jerry and Sue Dodd of Tulsa and Debbie and Jeff Edgren of Grapevine, TX; five grandchildren Lili Dodd, Brandon Rhodes, David Rhodes, Rachel Edgren, and Sean Edgren; and numerous other family and friends.
